Sad thoughts, scary thoughts. Still, from what I can see nature wins, every time. Somehow nature will come up with another way of fighting back. Who will still be here in the end...it may be hard to see right now, but nature will always rise above.

First of all, thank you for visiting and viewing my art, I hope you enjoy the visit.
I've set up my website with a blog, and haven't posted anything. I've thought about what I want to use it for, and came to the conclusion - I'd like to use this space to share the thoughts and visions behind the paintings. I have chosen soft pastels and still life as my main medium and subject, I truly enjoy the process of creating my art. I love the vivid colors, the smoothness of the pastels, and I love detailed work. I get a lot of questions from my viewers - "Why do you work in photorealism?", "How do you choose your subjects?", " How do you make it look so real?", "What is the meaning of the painting?", "Is there a meaning in the painting?". The list goes on, there's many questions to be asked, and most of them interesting and good ones at that. For the most part I'll use this blog as a forum to share the vision behind my paintings, what made me paint that particular painting, I may talk about the technical aspect to a certain degree, but mainly the story I see in my work. Through my work, as a musician and as a painter I am constantly interested in relations, communication, and emotions - and these themes are always present - sometimes obvious, other times suggested. For my paintings the theme is probably less obvious, and maybe even not visible at all for many viewers, even though the title in some cases does point out the meaning. Maybe some will find it interesting to spend a little time on my blog, and get a little peak behind the finished painting. I enjoy talking about art, viewing art, experiencing art - if you'd like to leave me a comment please feel free to do so, I'd love to hear from you. |
